Charles H. Whitmore was born in Milwaukee. His mother was Geratha Phillips and he has no brothers or sisters.
He was raised in Morgan and Sturgeon Bay where he enjoyed fishing and swimming. He attended school in Morgan, Gresham, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Oak Park, Illinois. He loved school for the sports he could participate in.
Charles celebrated his 36th anniversary of marriage to Judy who was introduced to him by a mutual friend. They don’t have any children or grandchildren.
Charles was in the US Marine Corps where he spent thirteen months in North Africa and thirteen months in Viet Nam. He also worked in Chicago and Joliet, Illinois.
He says his favorite place to travel is the Northwest part of the United States. He also enjoys riding his motorcycle and flying. He’s proud that he earned his private Pilot’s License and served in the US Marine Corps. He was 4 years active duty and 2 years inactive reserves and received an honorable discharge.
Charles has these words for the youth in our community: "Pay attention in school, graduate, learn a useful trade and/or go to college."
