The Pharmacy Registration Tech is responsible for collecting and maintain insurance information and pertinent data from all clients prior to receiving care in the Pharmacy of the Health & Wellness Center.  Receives cash or payments. 


All employees of Stockbridge Munsee Community must meet the following qualification:

  1. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and health screening.
  2. Must be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated on job description
  3. Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record
  4. Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays
  5. Must obtain and maintain Elder/Youth License as stated on job description


  1. Answer all telephone calls and screen calls for the Pharmacists.
  2. Obtain required current client information for the Pharmacy.
  3. Obtain current address, telephone number, and third-party billing information.
  4. Completes data entry of client information, including but not limited to patient address, phone number and insurance information into the computer system.
  5. Verifies patient and insurance information with other departments within the clinic.
  6. Checks patient eligibility and outside prescription referral status.
  7. Receive all clients’ cash and checks for the Pharmacy.
  8. Write receipts for payments for client’s services and co-payments.
  9. Prepares reports pharmacy reports for business office and other requesting departments.
  10. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.
  11. Help patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders.
  12. Enter prescription orders into the computer.
  13. At point of medication pick-up, prepare the customer or patient for consultation with the pharmacist.
  14. Order stock medication from the pharmacy wholesaler and process inventory received from the pharmacy wholesaler.
  15. Reviews and stocks PARATA with medications and supplies daily to ensure availability to operate.
  16. Prepare and process medication returns from the pharmacy.
  17. Maintain and restock levels of pharmacy supplies (e.g. vials, paper, etc.).
  18. Perform periodic inventory inspection for expired medications.
  19. Provide excellent customer service.

  21. Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
  22. Required to attend job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  23. Must adhere to tribal law and other applicable laws as well as tribal personnel policies and procedures.
  24. May be required to satisfactorily complete an exam or other testing requirement(s) to determine skill proficiency.
  25.   1. Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  2. Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  3. Working knowledge of computers and word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
  4. Must be able to work under pressure and deal with clients and co-workers in prompt, courteous and cooperative manner.
  5. Must have no drug related offenses in the past five years on criminal background check.
  6. Must possess knowledge of office procedures and knowledge to maintain a record keeping system.
  7. Knowledge of private insurance, Medical Assistance and Medicare benefits preferred.
  8. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  9. Must be neat and well groomed.
  10. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  11. Must obtain an elder/youth license.
  12. Must be willing to attend all applicable training.
  13. Must pass pre-employment drug and health screening.  Must adhere to the Tribe’s Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
  14. Must be eligible for coverage under the employer’s liability insurance.
  15. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
  16. Must be able to meet physical requirements of position.
  17. Must be able to remain on feet for the entire work day and lift 35 pounds.
  18. Must abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.




  1. This position requires a lot of standing with occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  2. Evenings may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  3. Work environment requires excellent personal hygiene due to working in close proximity to others and in an enclosed area.
  4. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or TB Skin Test may be required.
