The Stockbridge-Munsee Community (Tribe) has a Public Works Department that is responsible for the management and maintenance of tribal facilities, parks, cemeteries, property, equipment, inventory, roads and public utilities. This includes buildings, property and equipment that are used for governmental operations as well as the public water and sewer system.

The Public Works Department is part of the Administration Division. Public Works consists of Facility, Park & Cemetery Maintenance, Solid Waste & Recycling, Road Maintenance and Public Utilities.


The Facilities Department is responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of designated tribal buildings and grounds, tribal parks and cemeteries. The Facilities Manager also supervises the Housekeeping Department, which provides daily housekeeping services for designated tribal buildings.

The Roads Department is responsible for providing seasonal and routine maintenance of the Tribal roads. Seasonal and routine maintenance includes roadside cutting, brushing, keeping logging roads open, cleaning bridges, grading, plowing and repairing existing roads. The department is also responsible for recommending future road projects and or construction of new roads in cooperation with Federal, State, County and local officials.

The Public Utilities is responsible for providing drinking water and sewer management in compliance with regulations.
