GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

All employees of North Star Mohican Casino Resort must meet the following qualifications.

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Mohican Nation Gaming License.
  2. Must submit to a Criminal Investigation Background Check (CIB).
  3. Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
  4. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening and health screening.
  5. Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  6. Must be 18 years of age.
  7. Must be COVID 19 fully vaccinated and remain up to date with required doses.

STANDARD DUTIES

  1. Must attend all training provided by North Star Mohican Casino Resort.
  2. Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Cage/Vault Department.
  3. Must participate in employee random drug testing program.
  4. Must be able to work with a variety of people with diverse personalities.
  5. Must attend all meetings, as assigned.
  6. Must adhere to departmental approved dress code.
  7. Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
  8. Must maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances, laws, and other communicated expectations, including but not limited to: Employment Manual, gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Minimum Internal Controls, Department Procedures, memos, and other communication from supervisory or regulatory personnel.
  9. All other assigned duties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma or GED is required. 
  2. Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field is preferred.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. North Star Mohican Casino Resort is looking for a courteous and friendly individual.
  2. Two (2) years of experience with Title 31 (Bank Secrecy Act), Anti-Money Laundering regulations, in a casino environment is desired.
  3. Must have excellent working knowledge, a strong understanding and comprehension of all relevant Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, gaming audits and casino operations.
  4. Must have ability to promptly respond to common inquiries, complaints, or requests from various internal and external parties in a professional manner.
  5. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
  6. Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as internal controls and manuals and have ability to write reports and correspondence.
  7. Must be able to speak effectively to groups of guests or team members of the organization.
  8. Must be able to maintain organization and meet deadlines.
  9. Must possess a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  10. Must have general office skills and ability to use standard office equipment.
  11. Must be motivated and be a self-starter.
  12. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.

DUTIES

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain the Title 31 Compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State gaming regulations.  Responsible for understanding and complying with Title 31 and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and requirements.
  2. Oversee the daily Title 31 compliance operations to include, but not limited to reporting requirements and leading the Title 31 program.
  3. Monitor and review all Title 31 operational areas and assist in the drafting of sound, effective and operationally efficient internal control procedures that comply with all applicable laws.
  4. Must be able to read and understand all departmental operations manuals as they pertain to Title 31 and make recommendations to the CFO for policy and procedure changes throughout the casino to ensure compliance with regulations.
  5. Investigate reported suspicious activity related to Title 31.
  6. Analyze suspicious activity reports and present to the Title 31 compliance committee.
  7. Oversee and ensure timely and accurate submission of Title 31 required document filings, CTR and SAR to FinCEN.  Ensure all team members are following all Title 31 programs, monitor team member Title 31 training and assist departments in meeting training requirements for successful and timely completion.
  8. Draft written response for internal and external Title 31 audits.
  9. Address potential non-compliance issues promptly and appropriately.
  10. Maintain all regulated paperwork and postings.
  11. Provide any other Title 31 support to casino departments and functions as needed.
  12. Promote positive guest relations (internal and external) through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  13. Will be held to the highest standards of confidentiality. Must adhere to all established rules, regulations, procedures, and policies of North Star Mohican Casino Resort and the Finance Department.
  14. Must adhere to the Casino’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during employment.
  15. Must maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances, laws, and other communicated expectations, including but not limited to:  Employment Manual, Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls, Departmental Procedures, memos, or other communication from supervisory or regulatory personnel.
  16. The above-mentioned duties and responsibilities are NOT an all-inclusive list, but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.  The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based upon organization needs and/or deemed necessary by the Chief Financial Officer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Constant hand movements (repetitive motions: grasping, holding, use of finger dexterity).  Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  2. Constant walking and standing which may include kneeling, crouching, reaching, and bending.
  3. Occasional pushing/pulling, lifting and/or moving up to sixty (60) pounds.
  4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
  5. Work is generally performed in a casino setting with a higher noise level and where cigarette smoke is prevalent.
  6. Work environment is NOT smoke, noise or dust free.
